Testimony
Brad: I grew up attending church, but in high school it felt like God was far away from me. When I got to college, I was trying to reach my goals and be in control of my life, but all my plans came crashing down. I was feeling frustrated and alone, wondering what life is all about. In March of my freshman year, two Campus Crusade for Christ staff members visited me and shared the Gospel with me using the Four Spiritual Laws. I always believed that God loved me and that I was a sinner, but I didn’t know that my sin separated me from God. I also didn’t know that Christ is the bridge and the only way to God, and that I needed to receive Him as my personal Lord and Savior. Two hours later, I prayed to receive Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior, asking Him to take control of my life. I felt a peace and joy that I had never experienced before. The guys invited me to a good church and a bible study, and I began to grow in my relationship with Christ.
Colleen: I accepted Christ through the ministry of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at the Univ. of Virginia while I was a member of their Varsity Women’s Volleyball Team. I had always believed in God and was very active in church growing up. But I felt that God was far away even though I often prayed to Him. At FCA I saw people who seemed to have a close relationship with Him and I wanted that too. After hearing the gospel of grace, that I couldn’t save myself by being good and that I had to personally receive Christ as my Lord and Savior and trust in Him alone for my salvation, I did so. I knew then that I had become a child of God and that I had access to the Father through Jesus. How sweet I is to enjoy His presence, love and grace!
Ministry
Brad: I serve as the International Director of World Reach’s Mobile Bible Institutes (BIs) in Latin America and Africa. I lead a team of our missionaries to start and operate our BIs in Peru, Colombia, Honduras, Kenya, Uganda and other countries. Through our BIs, we teach, train and equip national pastors, aspiring pastors and church leaders for evangelism, discipleship, church planting and church multiplication. I also serve as a professor in our BIs, teaching courses in Bible, Theology and Ministry. Pastors and lay leaders come for 15 to 18 intensive week-long courses as part of a 3½ year pastoral and ministry training program. I prepare and teach these courses for them in Spanish and English.
Colleen: Brad and I, by God’s grace, have planted 2 churches – 1 in Madrid, Spain and 1 in Birmingham, Alabama among Hispanics. I’m also an RN. When possible, I go with Brad on his trips and use this experience in women’s, children’s and medical ministries. I also support Brad’s ministry as his wife and helpmate, holding down the fort when he’s gone.
Favorite Scripture
Brad:
“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ~ Romans 8:38-39
Colleen:
“Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” ~ John 1:12

About Us
What are some of your Hobbies?
Brad: I love to play tennis and golf. I’m a big Atlanta Braves fan and enjoy watching sports on TV. I love teaching our four (soon to be five) grandchildren how to swim. I also enjoy spending time with our family and friends.
Colleen: I love playing tennis and being outdoors, gardening, hiking, playing piano, swimming, reading, embroidery and spending time with my family and friends.
What is an adventure you would like to go on?
Brad: I would like to explore Europe and visit beautiful places in nature that I’ve never seen before.
Colleen: I love mountains because they show God’s glory. I have seen many in several continents, but there are many, many more that I have not yet seen. Also, my 3 children, my husband and I are all certified scuba divers. I’d like the chance for all 5 of us to be together under the sea once again, contemplating God’s amazing works.
Who from the Bible would you like to meet in Heaven?
Brad: I would love to talk to Paul and ask him about the different letters he wrote, what he meant in certain difficult passages and how he became such a great missionary.
Colleen: Sarah. I’d like to hear about her life with Abraham, all the things they went through by obeying God and leaving their homeland and waiting for the fulfillment of His promises. She must have learned a lot about waiting on the Lord, faith, hope and trust.
