Leo Arriaga

Missionary in El Salvador

Testimony

After my father’s death and in the midst of a civil war in my country, I was just beginning my youth. I found a big void in my heart. The invitation of a classmate to visit his church was the beginning of my life in Christ. I received Christ at 17 years old. Right after that, I made the decision to serve the Lord. I went to the seminary, and here I am! Serving Him after many years.

Ministry

I serve the Lord in El Salvador, Central America. The most significant part of my ministry is as the senior pastor of the Family of Faith Church in Santa Ana, in the western part of the country. I preach, teach, train leaders, help low-income families, and build up the Body of Christ. Other areas of service include:

  • Ministering to people in needy communities, providing spiritual and physical help.
  • Coordinating short-term missionary trips to El Salvador. Together with churches in the United States, we bring the gospel through medical assistance and physical help.
  • Teaching at the World Reach Mobile Bible Institute in Peru, once or twice a year.
  • Working with young people from public schools and youth ministries in my city, to share the gospel and to teach Christian values.

Favorite Scripture

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, by Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

~ Galatians 2:20

About Us

What are some of your Hobbies?

I got together with my father’s extended family, and they gave me several things that belonged to him when he was alive. This sparked my desire to start collecting antiques. It has been fascinating! I have a sewing machine that is over a hundred years old and a bullet cartridge from 1942. Another hobby I enjoy is pickleball. I have been playing for two years, and I love it!

What is an adventure you would like to go on?

Some of the places that I am interested in visiting are Japan and Taiwan. For their culture and food. Yummy!

Who from the Bible would you like to meet in Heaven?

I would like to have a conversation with Moses to hear from his own mouth what his time spent in God’s presence was like and about his day-to-day life as a leader of so many people!
